I have seen something... curious. If you choose classic turns, it works as in Planetfall. BUT if you choose Simultaneous turns, you still can start or do your turn without having to be online all the players (the only difference is the turn order, as you can be the last one to end turn and then be the first one doing the next one).
Thanks for writing the review. To me increased complexity is a plus. As long as what makes it more complex isn't just unnecessary parts you can ignore. I did not understand the Stacking part of the review. What could you stack to 7 in AOW3, which is now 6 in AOW4?
It means tactical fight, because someone who had 4 stacks always has an advantage, because the other could only have 3 stacks at most (total 7 stacks). The probability of unfair fights has been defused a bit, because only a maximum of 3 stacks are possible.
It's great review Mark. I hope they fixed alot of issues currently with a.i and desyncs the time before I start to play it. I will most likely consider start playing it in late 2024 when dlc has been released.
